What is Concrete?

C8/10 - ST1, ST2
This concrete is moderately weak and used in projects where the firm base is needed but no real structural strength is desired.
Ideal for: drainage works, the foundation for steps, floor blinding and void filling
C12/15 - ST3
This concrete is suitable for house floors with no embedded metal where a non-permanent finish will be applied e.g. carpet.
Ideal for: internal floor slabs and blinding, and lightweight kerbing jobs.
C16/20
This concrete is widely used for a range of lightweight and domestic applications.
Ideal for: paving for patios, greenhouses, fence posts and kerbing
C20/25 - ST4
This concrete is also popular and in high demand. It is used throughout lightweight commercial and domestic projects. Its use and versatility are increased when combined with a reinforcement.
Ideal for: garden wall foundations, foundations & reinforced bases and hot tubs & shed bases.
C25/30 - ST5
This concrete is often used in external paving and floor slab construction.
Ideal for: house foundations, workshop bases, kennels and reinforced hard standings.
C28/35
This mix covers a broad range of domestic and commercial applications.
Ideal for: driveways & garage floor slabs, reinforced house foundations, agricultural storage areas and foundations for retaining walls.
C32/40
This concrete can be used where high structural strength and support is needed and when large heavyweights will be applied.
Ideal for: Hydro dam applications, HGV parks, agricultural & farming yards and structural beams.
C35/45 & C40/50
This concrete mix is typically used in specialised projects where high strength and support is a necessity.
Ideal for: wind turbine bases and heavy industrial applications.
